API and connector terms

These terms add to our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy when you use CloudFilm through the developer API, or through an app connected to your account — such as Claude or ChatGPT. Where they differ, these terms win for that use.

Your keys and connections

• API keys are for accounts that have bought credits. A key is shown once; keep it secret like a password. Anything done with your key or a connected app is done by your account.
• You can give each key and each connected app a monthly spending limit, and revoke a key or disconnect an app at any time in Settings → Developers. It stops working at once.
• If a key leaks, revoke it. We may revoke a key or disconnect an app that is used against these terms or that puts the service at risk.

Prices and credits

• Films made through the API or an app cost the same credits as in the app. The price is shown before a film starts; in approve mode nothing past the script is made until you approve it.
• A limit you set is never passed — a film waits and says why. Failed renders are refunded automatically. Anything not made when you cancel is refunded.
• The free first film in a chat app is once per person, as described on the sign-in page; it can't be combined, transferred or exchanged for credits.

What you may make

• The Acceptable Use Policy applies to every request. Stories are checked before anything is written or charged, and requests that break the rules are refused.
• Only upload photos, music and clips you own or have the right to use; photos of a person only with their permission. Every upload is kept on record with your confirmation.
• Films you make are yours, as in the app. If you show them to others in your own product, you are responsible for what you publish.

Fair use of the service

• Each account makes a few films at the same time; more wait their turn, so everyone is served fairly. Requests are limited per minute; if you go over, wait and try again.
• Don't resell raw access to the API, try to get around limits, or overload the service.
• We may change the API with notice on cloudfilm.ai/developers; we keep existing fields working and add new ones alongside.

Your data

We process what you send through the API or an app exactly as described in our Privacy Policy. Connected apps can see your films, characters and voices and make films within your limit; they never see your payment details or your password. The record of requests (kept 90 days) is shown to you in Settings → Developers.

No guarantee of availability

We work to keep everything running and show live status at cloudfilm.ai/status, but the API and connectors are provided as they are, without a guaranteed uptime, under the limits of liability in our Terms of Service.
